The School District of Lee County is ready to roll out the red carpet for
the 2013 Lee County Student Film Festival! This event involves students
from all grade levels and is open to all schools across Lee County,
Florida. This festival is an opportunity for students to be active rather
than passive with creative film making. Instead of just watching television
and movies, they are compelled to create their own video productions. The
planning, scriptwriting, shooting, editing and reviewing touches all aspects
of what we teach in our schools. Perhaps the best part for the students
involved in video production is the opportunity to display and be recognized
for their work. Now students have an opportunity to apply what they learn in
the classroom and be recognized for their own creative projects.
Awards night is a special
formal evening for all Student Film Festival finalists. This year's Master
of Ceremonies is NBC-2 Chief Meteorologist Robert Van Winkle.
Students receive an award for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in their
respective category. Each finalist is presented a trophy in
recognition of their achievement. The 1st place overall winning video will be viewed live during the gala. To cap off the 2013 ceremony, one finalist will be named "Best of Show".
Thank you very much for your participation and best of luck!
